Business school awards honorary doctorate to UAE minister – news

The institution has only ever granted the honor 17 times in its more than 200-year history

ESCP European Business School awarded Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs of the United Arab Emirates and Chairman of the Executive Office of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, with an honorary doctorate in government management and future strategies.

In its two centuries of existence, the school has awarded honorary doctorates only 17 times.

The honorary doctorate was awarded in recognition of Gergawi’s role in developing government management methodologies and improving their first-rate implementation.

The award also recognized his initiatives to strengthen public administration efficiency and government accountability, presenting to the world an Emirati model for distinguished government performance.


The doctorate recognized his contributions to the foresight of “Strategies of the Future” by strengthening future foresight mechanisms, monitoring government development strategies and anchoring the competitiveness of the United Arab Emirates in multiple international indices measuring the government work efficiency.
