We obtained 3.4 billion naira in research grants in 2021

Ten academic staff of Alex Ekwueme Ndufu-Alike Ikwo Federal University from various faculties have secured research grants for the institution in the amount of 3.4 billion naira locally and internationally in 2021.

University Vice Chancellor Professor Sunday Elom, who revealed this on Monday during a press briefing on the occasion of the 6th convocation ceremony scheduled for December 14, 2021, said that the feat was a huge testament that the academic staff at the university were doing very well.

“Our academic staff do well in the area of ​​obtaining research grants. In this year 2021, ten members of the academic staff of the different faculties obtained research grants at the local and international level for a total of 3.4 billion ”, declared Professor Elom.

The vice-chancellor said the university will achieve a total of 900 graduates in 10 faculties, of which 20 are in first class while 306 are in upper second class.

He further explained that 494 made the second lower class, 79 made the third class while one person got a pass.

“Prior to convocation on Monday, December 13, 2021, there will be a convocation conference titled ‘Cost Sharing in Funding University Education in Nigeria.” The lecture will be given by Professor Emeritus Onyechi Obidoa while the event will be chaired by Professor Charles Chike Onochie, Former Vice-Chancellor, Renaissance University, Ugbawka, Enugu State.

“In addition, as part of the activity program of the 6th graduation ceremony, on Thursday December 9, 2021, 68 pioneer students who have graduated from our Faculty of Education will be inducted into the teaching profession by the Enrollment Council of teachers from Nigeria.

“On Tuesday, December 7, 2021, there will be a research fair / art exhibition, where academics and researchers will present their work and innovations to the public,” said the vice-chancellor.
