WVU to distribute 2021-22 emergency grants to students | WVU today

Based on the latest guidelines from the US Department of Education, University of West Virginia will distribute $ 27,271,733 in emergency grants to eligible students during the 2021-2022 academic year.

Degree-seeking students on all WVU campuses who take at least part-time courses and have a 2021-22 degree Free application for federal student aid on file before August 20 will automatically count towards American Rescue Plan Act funds authorized by the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III. Graduate and professional students who meet the stated criteria will be considered. Eligible international students will be contacted by the Global Affairs Office with instructions on how to apply for a review.

Students whose financial situation has radically changed since 2019 (tax year declared on the FAFSA 2021-2022) can submit a Call for family contribution. FCAs must be submitted by August 20 for priority review.

  • Eligible beneficiaries of the Federal Pell Grant with a CEF of zero may receive a fall emergency grant of $ 1,500.
  • Eligible Federal Pell Grant recipients with a CFE greater than zero may receive a Fall Emergency Grant of $ 1,000.
  • Eligible non-Pell grantees with a CEF of zero to $ 10,000 may receive a Fall Emergency Grant of $ 750.
  • Eligible non-Pell grantees with a CEF of $ 10,001 to $ 20,000 may receive a Fall Emergency Grant of $ 500.
  • Non-Pell grantees with a CEF greater than $ 20,000 will not be considered for the grant at this time.

Students who have not yet submitted a 2021-2022 FAFSA can do so no later than August 20.
